Mountain Fest 2025 Roundup

Mountain Fest 2025

What a day at Mountain Fest! Our annual canyon celebration on August 9, 2025 was packed with laughter, games, and friendly competition—from Mountain Games and Frozen Flannel to Soap Whittlin’, Chicken Poop Bingo (thanks to Locavore Delivery!), and the always-popular Dragon Slide. The Steepland String Band kept the energy high with lively jams as neighbors gathered at the Jefferson Academy CCC PK-8 School and CCCPRD Pavilions. We’re so grateful for the incredible community support that made this year’s Mountain Fest such a success for local Park and Rec!

It was a tight race this year but the Hilltop Hooligans have done it again. With a competitive field of mullet styling, wood cairnbuild, skat IQ, toilet seat horseshoe, and tire racing – the team came with strong smack talk and skills to back it up. Hybre is back on top as the soap whittling queen with a feathery owl and Isaak dominated as the junior soap champ with his subtle but crowd favorite of Cheese. Frozen flannel and Kids Cold Flannel came as a family affair with a father/daughter win of Brooke and Rocky.

Chicken Poop Bingo was a hit! Lucy and Ethel strutted their stuff without hesitation, and the big winners were John Benisch and Carrie Mott on the newly quilted, colorful “super poop board.” In the Bake-Off, Craig Taber wowed the judges and earned the blue ribbon with his mouthwatering, grass-fed “baked” meatloaf.

A huge shout-out to our amazing sponsors, volunteers and partners! Every dollar, volunteer hour and in-kind donation helps move CCC Park and Rec to grow and make a greater impact for our mountain community. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, our small-town event turns into BIG fun every year. Our 2025 title sponsors were Good People Tree Service as our Great Horned Owl sponsor and Denver Water supported us through our Mountain Lion level. We couldn’t make the magic happen without you — your support keeps our community coming together, laughing, and making memories through play!

Plus, mad props to our powerhouse Black Bear sponsors that made impactful contributions this year: United Power Inc., Canyon Liquors and Karen Merkins. Our Moose sponsors: Deuter/Ortovox, LotOne, Studio Pilates West, Colorado Rapids, Eldora Ski Resort, Skratch Labs, Mountain Aire Hair Salon, Jefe’s RV Service, Wondervu Disc Golf Course, Locavore Delivery, The Bruno Family, Wade Lowe & Temptee Foods. And many thanks to our Hummingbird sponsors: Canyon Coffee, Steepland String Band, New Terrain Brewing, Freedom Street Social, Paisano’s Deli, Echo Mountain, and Stoney Creek Golf Course. Plus loads of generous silent auction items from: Toss, Gold Dirt Distillery, Howlin’ Wind, Tru Beauty, Nature’s Own Rock Shop, Carousel of Happiness, Busey Brews, Knotted Root and Brightwood Music.

A huge shout out to this year’s planning committee of Claire Bruno, Lena Benisch, Ashley

And to our brave and strong volunteers: Julia “Future CEO” Benisch, Stella “Girl Boss” Yannett, Avery “the Brains” Lawson, Beau “Eye in the Sky – Drone Master” Benisch, Linda “Eagle Wings” Martin and everyone at JA CCC PK-8.
