Exciting changes happening with CCCPnR

The board is again in full swing as we have just recently appointed two new board members in the past months. With that being said, I would like to introduce these two members as people who are bringing their skills, dedication and common interests to align with the Coal Creek Canyon Park & Recreation’s ultimate vision, mission and goals – “To acquire land through grants, etc. and to build a CCCPRD Event/Community Multi-Purpose Pavilion along with an indoor Recreation Center consisting of a fitness center, swimming pool and various courts for all the Coal Creek Canyon Residents to enjoy!”

First, appointed as our new volunteer Secretary role is Lena Benisch, who brings to the board great enthusiasm and can always be counted on to volunteer her time in any way, shape, or form for this community. Lena has lived in the Canyon for numerous years and is married to John where they are raising two children, both attending the CCC K-8 school in which she works and volunteers her time to co-curricular activities and the PTSA. In fact, her daughter Julia attends 2nd grade along out President’s daughter Olivia, and our Vice President’s daughter Ava. Also, for those who don’t already know Lena, her drive and voice will assure a positive future and greatly assist with the continued success of our organization. We are extremely happy to welcome her on the team and would like to thank her once again, for her commitment to this community, and to this particular organization!

Second, appointed as our new Webmaster is Nate Olson who has resided in CCC for the past 12 years and will be our first line communicator to keep all of our residents informed of upcoming events and activities. Nate loves this canyon even through the times dealing with the wind. Nate graduated from the School of Mines (in Golden) in 1997 with a dual degree in Chemical Engineering and Computer Science then realized that a Chem Engineering degree would take him out of state and the Comp Science degree would keep him in wonderful Colorado. He took a job as a software engineer and hasn’t looked back. Nate has been married to his wife, Laura, for 14 years now and has a daughter, Piper, who also attends the 4th grade at the K-8 school and loves it immensely, because her Auntie Kari, Nate’s sister, works as the librarian there. Nate will maintaining our web-site and updating our information regularly to keep us all informed. I can assure you that Nate is committed to delivering a great website and letting everyone know what the organization is up to. We would like to take the time to thank Nate for his committed oath to the Coal Creek Canyon Park & Recreation District and we are excited to have him as part of our growing team.
